Motocross Jerseys

A great motocross jersey does three things: lets you move, lets your body breathe, and lets you find your bike in the parking lot. Cut for the riding stance — long enough at the back to stay tucked when you're forward, with arms pre-bent for the bars — a proper MX jersey is the difference between feeling fresh on lap 20 and dripping in your own sweat by lap 10. What's in this category This category covers race-cut MX jerseys, enduro/trail-cut tops with slightly more relaxed fits, vented summer jerseys with mesh underarms and back panels, and matched-set jerseys to pair with our MX pants and complete sets. Adult and youth sizes across every brand we stock. How to choose Fit first. MX jerseys are designed to be worn over body armour, so they run roomier in the chest and shoulders than a regular shirt — order true to your usual size, not a size up. The sleeves should sit at your wrist when you're in the attack position (gripping the bars in the standing stance), not when you're standing relaxed. The hem at the back should extend well past your waistband — if it lifts above the pants when you're forward on the bike, it'll bunch under your gear. Fabric matters more than you'd think. Look for moisture-wicking polyester (sometimes called "high-performance" or "DRYsomething" by various brands), flat-locked seams that don't chafe under armour, and silicone or printed graphics rather than heavy stitched ones (lighter, dries faster, doesn't crack with age). Mesh panels at the underarms, ribcage, and back are essential for hot-weather riding. Two jerseys is better than one — rotate them and the fabric will last twice as long. Frequently asked questions about Jerseys

Do I wear anything under a motocross jersey?

It depends on whether you wear body armour. If body armour goes over the jersey, just the jersey itself or a thin moisture-wicking base layer underneath. If armour goes under the jersey, the armour is the layer. In cold weather, a thermal base layer under everything is the standard solution.

Why are motocross jersey sleeves so long?

Because they are cut for the riding position — sleeves should reach the wrists when you are gripping the bars in the standing attack stance, not when you are standing relaxed off the bike. A jersey that fits "right" off the bike will pull back from the wrist on the bike and let your glove ride up.

How do I get the sweat smell out of my jersey?

Cold wash with a sport-specific detergent that targets odour-causing bacteria — regular detergent washes the salt out but not the bacteria deep in the fibres. Avoid fabric softener (it coats the moisture-wicking fibres and reduces their performance). Adding a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle works well for stubborn smells.

Should I order jerseys true to size, or size up?

Order true to your usual chest size unless you plan to wear body armour over the jersey — then size up one. MX jerseys are already cut roomy in the chest and shoulders to accommodate underneath armour, so do not over-buy or you will swim in it.

New jerseys feel scratchy on the inside — will that go away?

Yes, after the first one or two washes. Modern sublimated jerseys can feel slightly stiff out of the bag because of finishing chemicals; wash them in cold water before the first ride and the fabric softens considerably.
