Build a complete motocross kit, head to toe

The loadout builder is the fastest way to put together a full set of motocross and off-road riding gear in one place. Instead of hunting through separate pages for a helmet here and boots there, you fill every slot — helmet, goggles, body armour, jersey, gloves, pants, knee protection and boots — and add the whole kit to your cart in a single tap. Whether you are buying your first MX outfit, kitting out a new rider, or replacing a worn set, building it as one loadout keeps your protective gear matched, complete and ready to ride.

Everything you pick comes from the same range of motocross, enduro and trail gear we stock, so the sizes, styles and protection levels line up. Choose each piece, confirm the size, and the builder tallies your running total as you go — no surprises at checkout.

What goes into a full riding loadout

  • Helmet: the single most important piece of protective gear. A proper motocross helmet with an extended chin bar and peak is built for off-road impacts and roost, and pairs with goggles rather than a visor.
  • Goggles: shield your eyes from dust, mud, branches and roost. Look for a wide field of view, tear-off or roll-off compatibility and a foam seal that fits your helmet.
  • Body armour / chest protector: guards your chest, back and shoulders from impacts and roost. Roost deflectors are light and airy; full pressure-suit body armour adds back and elbow coverage for faster or rougher riding.
  • Jersey: a lightweight, breathable, moisture-wicking top cut for a riding position. It layers cleanly over or under body armour and keeps you cool on long motos.
  • Gloves: thin, grippy MX gloves give you feel on the bars, levers and grips while protecting your knuckles and palms. A snug fit stops blisters on long rides.
  • Pants: abrasion-resistant motocross pants with a reinforced seat, stretch panels and leather knee patches that shrug off boot buckles and engine heat.
  • Knee protection: knee guards or hinged knee braces protect one of the most commonly injured joints in off-road riding. Make sure they fit under your pants and above your boots.
  • Boots: motocross boots protect your feet, ankles and shins and support your ankle against twisting. A stiff sole and secure buckles are non-negotiable for serious riding.

Why build your gear as one loadout

Protection works best as a system. Gaps between your pants and boots, a chest protector that fights your jersey, or knee braces that will not fit under your pants are the kind of mismatches that only show up on the trail. Building your kit as a single loadout lets you see the whole outfit at once, check that the pieces work together, and make sure nothing is missing before you ride. It also saves time — one pass, one cart, one total — and makes it easy to spread a colourway or brand across the full set for a clean, coordinated look.

How the loadout builder works

  1. Tap any gear slot — helmet, goggles, body armour, jersey, gloves, pants, knee protection or boots.
  2. Browse the products that fit that slot, search or sort by price, and pick the one you want.
  3. Choose your size or variant, and the slot fills in with your selection and its price.
  4. Watch your gear score climb as you equip each slot and your running total updates live.
  5. When your loadout is ready, add the whole set to your cart in one go and check out.

Getting your motocross gear sizing right

Good protection depends on good fit. A helmet should be snug with no pressure points and no movement when you shake your head; goggles should seal to your face and sit flush in the helmet opening. Jerseys and pants are cut for a riding stance, so check each product's size guide rather than assuming your street size — many riders size pants by waist and match the jersey to their chest. Boots should hold your heel without crushing your toes, and knee braces or guards need to sit correctly on the joint under your pants. When in doubt, check the size chart on each product page before you lock it into your loadout.

Gear for motocross, enduro or trail — however you ride

The same loadout approach works whatever your discipline. Motocross and track riders tend to favour lighter, roost-focused gear and maximum airflow; enduro and trail riders often want tougher pants, more coverage and boots that walk as well as they ride; hard enduro and adventure riders lean toward full body armour and hinged knee braces. Build the loadout that suits your riding, your terrain and your budget — and gear up properly before every ride.

Motocross gear loadout — frequently asked questions

What gear do I need for motocross?

A complete motocross kit covers you head to toe: a helmet, goggles, body armour or a chest protector, a jersey, gloves, pants, knee protection and boots. The helmet and boots are the priority for protection, but a full loadout keeps every part of you covered. The builder walks you through all eight slots so nothing gets forgotten.

How do I use the loadout builder?

Tap a gear slot, pick the product you want and choose your size, and the slot fills in with your selection. Repeat for each slot you want to fill, watch your total update as you go, then add the whole loadout to your cart in a single tap. You can change or remove any pick before you check out.

Do I have to fill every slot?

No. Fill only the slots you need — the builder is just as happy adding a single helmet as a full head-to-toe kit. Your gear score simply shows how many of the eight slots are equipped, so you can see at a glance how complete your loadout is.

How should motocross gear fit?

Helmets should be snug with no movement; goggles should seal to your face and sit flush in the helmet; jerseys and pants are cut for a riding position, so use each product's size guide; boots should hold your heel without pinching your toes. Check the size chart on each product page before adding a piece to your loadout.

Do I need body armour or just a chest protector?

A roost deflector or chest protector is light and airy and covers your chest and back from roost and light impacts — plenty for casual trail and track days. Full body armour or a pressure suit adds shoulder, elbow and back coverage and suits faster, rougher or hard-enduro riding. Pick the level that matches how and where you ride.

Can I build one loadout for enduro and trail riding?

Yes. The same slots cover motocross, enduro and trail riding — you just choose gear suited to your discipline. Enduro and trail riders often pick tougher pants, more coverage and boots that walk well, while track riders favour lighter, more ventilated gear. Build the loadout that fits your riding and terrain.
